I am a third year Ph.D student from University of Iowa and being advised by Prof. Rishab Nithyanand. I also had the pleasure of working under the mentorship of Prof. Supreeth Shastri previously. My research interests are primarily focused on online privacy. Specifically, I am interested in developing tools that simplify and enhance compliance with data protection regulations. More recently, I expanded my interest to privacy measurement and hope to bring greater transparency to the Internet.

Research Projects

• WebMonetize Insight: Decoding Website Revenue Streams (ongoing)
  • Analyze and categorize the various monetization strategies employed by websites. This involves creating a comprehensive framework to identify and understand the different revenue models, such as affiliate marketing, sponsored content, display advertising, product sales, and membership programs.

• Tradeoffs in the Design and Implementation of Right to be Forgotten (ongoing)
  • Analyzing the legal requirements of RTBF and implementing RTBF in Elasticsearch to explore the different levels of the compliance tradeoff.

• Establishing the State of the Art for GDPR enforcement
  • Defined GDPR SOTA to reduce uncertainty in complying with GDPR.
  • Used BeautifulSoup and Selenium to build an information archival system to automate crawling all GDPR related documents.
  • Automated label key characteristics of each document and systematic analyze their enforcement trends.
  • Used React to created a website allows users to filter and download GDPR documents by country, articles, penalty etc.
